Aliens, monsters, freaks, paranoid weirdos and deliberate obfuscation of the truth. Yep it’s time for Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Michael Felsher, Dave Gill and Josh Perrigo.

Oh yeah they are talking about the BEST OF THE X-FILES.

Note: This and every Geek Fights is earmarked by iTunes as “explicit” and is intended for mature audiences.

  1. You lost me

I discovered your podcast by searching on Google for X-Files-related things. When I saw there was a 3 hour podcast dedicated to figure out what the best thing about The X-Files, I was psyched. I also looked through your other Geek Fights and thought this might be my new favorite podcast. Your feed was a little screwy so it took a while before I could actually subscribe and download the episode itself. Today, I listened and was really kind of disappointed. Obviously you don’t need me listening so maybe my thoughts will fall on deaf ears. You seem to have plenty of listeners. But I thought I’d just send a message out and let you know what I was thinking.

If I could start with a positive, you do have a couple of guys who are actually intelligent and mature. I wish I caught their names, because they deserve some credit for actually not letting the idiocy going on throughout affect them, but there were maybe two guys who actually felt like discussing the subject of the fight with some actual thought behind it. However, mispronouncing things and then, when realizing you’re mispronouncing things, just continue to mispronounce things because you think it’s funny. Dude. It’s really not funny at all. It actually just makes you sound like you don’t know what you’re talking about. Or just an ignorant asshole.

Another thing that bothered me was how it was set up. One person even brought up how it was weird to be pitting episodes against theme songs against taglines against characters against ideas. As you work your way through the bracket, it really is apparent how flawed that system is. Also, another obnoxious thing that happened was the sudden inclusion of “Fuck You” as a nominee. Again, because you thought it was funny. Again, it’s not funny. In fact, at that point, the “Fuck You” seems to be to the listener who is trying to get some sort of enjoyment out of this.

And finally, guys, I have to tell you – maybe no one let you in on this yet – but it’s 2013. The need to use “gay” as a word to describe something you think is crappy is pretty outdated and ignorant as well. Also, having a discussion if double penetration makes you gay really just says a lot about yourselves. First off, you’re an asshole. Oh and another thing, you’re a total asshole. I wonder how many people unsubscribe from your podcast because of your complete lack of respect of the gay community. The sad thing is, I’m sure you think you are a rebel for not letting political correctness get you down and many people eat that bullshit right up. But really, it’s time to grow the fuck up.

Again, I want to thank the two, maybe three guys, that actually engaged in an intelligent examination of the subject and I’m kind of sad that I won’t get to listen to the topics on your other podcast episodes that seemed like fun. Maybe a better produced podcast will cover these. And maybe, at this point, I could give a shit what your opinions are on those are anyway.

I think one of the hosts said it right at the end: “The true winner of this episode is the people who did not listen.”

    You’re so right.

    Unsubscribed.
