EMP Episode 141: Dueling Bears

IN THIS EPISODE… The fellas are reunited for a double LP and the world is truly excited! Wu-Tang humor aside, some truly earth-shaking events shaped the latest episode of EMP and “double” may truly be the word of the hour! First off, in Avengers #3 the new team configuration goes heads up with the one of their oldest nemeses (that’s plural, right?) as Loki the Trickster serves up a portion of duality per usual, being just as much friend and brother as he is villain and schemer. A double portion on art duties helped to fill the emptiness we all felt waiting on the savagely-behind-schedule issue of the flagship title (Only issue 3 guys…not necessarily the best start we’ve seen!) But Paco Medina and Ed McGuinness made the delay nearly worth while. Doubling down on the newest and best team in the Marvel Universe, the Champions had two appearances this month. Issue #21 of their main book brings our “Un”-Avengers face to face with Alpha Flight – and forces a legacy confrontation between Captain and Miss Marvel, a situation simmering since the events of Civil War II! Then: In Infinity Countdown: Champions #1, the Champions head into space…only to find themselves making another tough choice- protect the Chituari army from Warbringer who is determined to destroy his soldiers rather than let them fight for…. you guessed it, the Mad Titan himself! It’s Thanos VS Warbringer VS the Chituari … and the Champions are lodged uncomfortably in between them all! Back in the “real world” Bobby and Viet cross paths for the first time “IRL!” What is the meaning of this fateful dalliance? All this and more in the latest episode of EARTH’S MIGHTIEST PODCAST! …. ‘Nuff Said!
